Sept. 16, 2013 - North Central College football players Spencer Stanek and John Focosi have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Players of the Week on offense and defense, respectively, for the week of Sept. 9-15.

The pair were recognized for the roles in the Cardinals' 41-24 victory at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Saturday.  Stanek helped lead North Central to a school-record 674 yards of total offense, completing 26 of 35 passes for 330 yards and a touchdown while also leading the team in rushing with 106 yards on 15 carries and two scores. He moved into third place in North Central history for career passing yards (4,384) while also leading the Cardinals with 436 yards of offense.

Focosi led the Cardinals' defense with three tackles for loss and two quarterback sacks. North Central limited the Eagles to 264 total yards and permitted just one first down in the second and third periods.
