ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (Apr. 12, 2014) - Posting three first-place finishes and a series of personal-record performances, the North Central College women's track and field team secured a second-place finish in the 20-team Chicagoland Outdoor Championships at Lewis University.

The 13th-ranked Cardinals scored 127 points, second to only the host Flyers' total of 197.5, while the University of Chicago finished third with 95.

The Cardinals won a second throwing event when Lina Baker finished first in the hammer throw (175'8"), and Kayla Etherton finished third with a toss of 152'10" to break the North Central freshman record she set the previous week at the Wheaton College Invitational. Jocelyn Redlinski, meanwhile, scored 4,378 points to win the heptathlon.

Madison Renfro posted a lifetime best of 14.30 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles to place second and move into second place in North Central history in the event, while Redlinski also clocked a personal best of 14.53 to finish third. Megan Costanzo's second-place time of 36:45.72 was a personal best by more than two minutes and made her the fourth-fastest Cardinal all-time, while Jordan Flower also placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 5'3".

Ebony Stallworth finished third in the shot put (42'5 1/2") and fourth in the discus throw (130'4"), while fourth-place finishes also came from Kelsey Kirk in the high jump (5'1"), Katelyn Zumpf in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:41.22) and the 4-by-100-meter relay team of Renfro, Brittny Olson, Sade Gant and Miranda Rorer (49.62).
