Apr. 23, 2014 – For the second time this season, North Central College's Connor Sass has been honored by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), earning men's tennis Player of the Week honors for the week of Apr. 15-21.

This is the third Player of the Week honor for the Cardinals as Sass was recognized for his play Feb. 5 and Josh Rodig earned the distinction Mar. 12.

Sass finished 2-1 last week while guiding the Cardinals to its first conference victory of the season, a 5-4 win over Illinois Wesleyan University, Apr. 17.  Against the Titans, Sass secured the team victory at No. 6 singles, bouncing back from a set down to defeat Genyl Rufino, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.  In doubles play, he teamed up with brother Mason Sass to take down George Alex and Calen Crim, 9-8 at the No. 2 position.

North Central wraps up the regular season Saturday, April 26, making the trip down to Millikin University with matches slated to begin at 3:30 pm.
