Jan. 5, 2015 - North Central College senior forward Jack Burchett has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Player of the Week of Dec. 29-Jan. 4.
Burchett was selected as the CCIW's top-performing player for the first time in his career after playing a lead role in the 21st-ranked Cardinals' CCIW opener, a 78-72 victory over ninth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. He turned in a career-high 25 points on 9 of 16 shooting from the floor and 7 for 8 shooting from the free-throw line while also grabbing five rebounds and posting a team-best four assists.
He is North Central's third-leading scorer at 11.5 points per game this season while ranking second in the CCIW in rebounds per game (7.6) and fifth in field-goal percentage (.594).
Burchett is the Cardinals' third CCIW Player of the Week honoree this season. Charles Rosenberg received the distinction on Nov. 24 and Jayme Moten did the same on Dec. 8.
