April 14, 2015 – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) is honoring junior Andrea Starr as CCIW Player of the Week for her strong pitching performance in recent competitions.

Starr (12-1) made five appearances for the Cardinals last week including three starts and two saves. She maintained a 0.57 ERA with 20 strikeouts.

She snagged two shutouts wins including a no-hitter against the University of Chicago on Saturday where the Cardinals took the 3-0 victory.

Overall on the season, Starr has a 1.41 ERA, pitching 89.2 innings and striking out 70. She also tops the board at the plate with a .429 batting average with 21 hits and 17 RBI including 6 doubles and three home runs.

Starr is joined by Wheaton College's Alyssa Leonard who was also named CCIW Player of the Week for her hitting performance.

The Cardinals play at Wheaton College on Thursday in a CCIW doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
