April 21, 2015 – For the second time this season, Kiersten Tinkoff and Andrea Starr of the North Central College softball team have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Players of the Week due to their outstanding performances at the plate and circle in recent competitions.

Tinkoff was first named Hitter of the Week on March 31, but has continued her strong batting performance holding a .522 batting average this past week with six runs, three doubles, one home run and 12 RBI. She maintained a .783 slugging percentage and remains at the top offensively for the Cardinals.

This is the second straight week Starr has been honored for her solid stance at the mound going 4-1 in CCIW play last week with a 1.37 ERA. She collected 17 strikouts and advanced to 14-2 overall during that time.

At the plate, Starr is one of North Central's top batters averaging .371 with four home runs including a grand slam.

The Cardinals are currently 25-3 overall and 10-2 in the CCIW.

North Central competes again on Wednesday at home as they take on Concordia University Chicago in a nonconference doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
