July 26, 2016 -
The North Central College men's golf program has a representative on the Golf Coaches Association of America's (GCAA) Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Team for the first time this season, as junior Lincoln Slagel is among this year's 356 honorees from all divisions of collegiate competition.

To be eligible for All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three years at the collegiate level, participate in at least 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. NCAA Division III competitors must also carry an 18-hole stroke average of less than 79.0.

Slagel, a management major, ranked third on the Cardinals' roster during the 2015-2016 campaign with a stroke average of 78.87, including a low round of 70 at the Millikin University Fall Classic in October, and placed 25th at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships in April. He is one of 41 Division III representatives on this year's All-America Scholar list and one of three CCIW representatives, joining Millikin's Alex Koulos and Cole Sondgeroth.
