United Soccer Coaches 2017 Division III Men's Scholar All-America Teams

Dec. 12, 2017- The United Soccer Coaches recognized North Central College's senior midfielder Jon Borzick as a Division III Men's Scholar All-American Third Team member, on Friday, December 8.

Despite a slower start at the beginning of the season, Borzick's leadership on the field and sideline created an atmosphere of healthy competitiveness amongst his teammates.

This desire to continually improve was evident in his studies as well, as a anthropology and classical civilizations major he finished the season with a 3.35 GPA allowing him to be nominated as a Scholar All-American.

With this recognition, Borzick is the first men's soccer player in the program's history to be named an Scholar All-American.

To be considered a Scholar All-American Borzick had to have a 3.30 cumulative GPA or better throughout his career, start more than 50 percent of all games and play a significant role on the team.

Borzick accomplishments both in his studies and on the field will be formally acknowledged at the All-America Luncheon on January 20, 2018, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in conjunction with the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Convention.
