Mar. 22, 2017 – North Central College sophomore
Victor Krueger was honored by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Wednesday, being named Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Krueger played an influential role in leading North Central to victories over Western New England College (Mar. 17), Buena Vista University (Mar. 19), and Virginia Wesleyan College (Mar. 20).
Playing at the No. 1 spot in singles competition, Krueger triumphed over Western New England's David Kalmer 6-1, 6-4, Chris Habermann of Buena Vista 6-3, 6-4 and Virginia Wesleyan's Ben Astrum 6-1, 6-3.
In the doubles, playing at the second flight, the duo of Krueger and junior
Alex Kohlmeier overcame Western New England 8-5, while he paired with freshman
Tyler Haizel in wins over Buena Vista (8-1) and Virginia Wesleyan (9-7).
North Central currently have a 5-2 record, and will be in action next at the North Central College Tennis Courts on Mar. 27, when they host Judson University (15-4) at 4:00 p.m.
