July 19, 2017 -
North Central College men's basketball player Mike Wisz has been honored with a selection to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Honors Court, in recognition of excellence in academics. The honorees for the 2016-2017 season were released Tuesday.

The Honors Court consists of varsity student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.2 grade-point average after at least two years of study. Wisz is among 442 NCAA Division III players from 137 institutions to be so honored.

Wisz, a management major, took part in four games in his first season with the Cardinals during the 2016-2017 campaign. He is one of eight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) representatives on the Honors Court. North Central players have earned seven Honors Court selections since the award's inception in 2012.

The Cardinals finished the 2016-2017 season with an overall record of 18-11, winning the CCIW Tournament and advancing to the second round of the Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
