Apr. 25, 2018 – For the first time this season, a North Central College women's tennis player was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week, as Diana Barcelata received the honor after going 4-0 last week.

Barcelata led the Cardinals to a pair of wins last week over Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wisconsin), 7-2 and Simpson College (Iowa), 8-1.  Barcelata earned a pair of 6-0, 6-1 victories at the No. 1 singles position, while teaming up with Tiffany Smolik to go 2-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Barcelata finished the 2017-18 season with an overall singles record of 17-7 at the No. 1 position, earning her first team All-CCIW accolades while making her the only first team selection in program history.

This marks the 10^th CCIW Player of the Week award for the women's tennis program since the conference began the weekly award in 2007.
