IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
July 23, 2018 - For the ninth time in its 10 years of varsity competition, the North Central College women's lacrosse team has been recognized as an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), and defender Sydney Manning has been selected to the IWLCA's Academic Honor Roll as well.
A total of 339 collegiate teams met the IWLCA's requirement of a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average to make the All-Academic list, including 165 NCAA Division III programs. North Central is one of four College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) teams to meet the criteria, joined by Carroll University, Elmhurst College and Illinois Wesleyan University.
Manning is one of 639 student-athletes from 189 Division III institutions to earn a selection to the Academic Honor Roll for this year. To qualify, student-athletes must have achieved junior, senior or graduate student academic status and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater. A total of 532 student-athletes from 159 institutions made this year's Honor Roll.
An exercise science major, Manning appeared in eight games for the Cardinals in 2018, her first as part of the program.
Members of the North Central program have earned 25 Academic Honor Roll distinctions since beginning varsity play in 2009. A total of 12 CCIW representatives qualified for inclusion this year.
The Cardinals finished the 2018 campaign with an overall record of 16-3, establishing a new school record for single-season victories.
