2022-2023 All-CCIW Men's Volleyball Teams

Apr. 11, 2023 - The North Central College men's volleyball program continues to impress with its already historical season as five Cardinals were named to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Teams. A pair of Cardinals also earned major conference distinctions while Kyle Exline and his coaching staff were named Staff of the Year.

Exline and his staff led the program to its best record to date (20-3) and its first-ever undefeated record in conference play (10-0). The Cardinals are currently sitting on a 12-game winning streak and lead the nation in kills per set (13.29) while ranking second in assists per set (12.05) and fifth in hitting percentages (0.319).

North Central's five All-CCIW nods are the most in program history while Jared Moser was also named the CCIW Player of the Year and Connor Davis was honored as the conference's Newcomer of the Year.

Jared Moser becomes the first-ever Cardinal in the program's history to claim First Team All-CCIW accolades all four years of his career while also being named the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year. This marks Moser's second major conference award after being named the Newcomer of the Year in 2020 and is the first in North Central history to earn each of these awards. The senior outside hitter has led the team with kills throughout the season (295) while averaging 4.15 kills per set to rank first in the CCIW and sixth in Division III. Moser's 29 service aces and 0.41 aces per set average are good for third in the conference.

Tyler Donovan earns his first All-CCIW First Team honor after leading the team and the conference with 794 assists on the year. His 10.31 assists per set average have been the conference and national leader for four-straight weeks. The junior setter is also fifth in the conference with blocks per set (0.74) with 57 total blocks on the year. Donovan was selected the CCIW Setter of the Week four times during the 2023 season and is currently 58 assists away from breaking the single-season record for assists.

Parker Nelson is also a first-time All-CCIW First Team honoree after anchoring the defense that held its opponents to a .183 hitting percentage. Nelson totaled 114 digs and 316 receptions with a .981 reception percentage.

Jeremy Cardenas earns his third All-CCIW Second Team honor after boasting a 1.21 blocks per set average and a 0.454 hitting percentage to end regular season play. Cardenas currently ranks second in the CCIW and third in the nation for blocks per set while ranking third in the conference and sixth in Division III for his hitting percentage. Earlier this season, Jeremy broke the career record for blocks which currently stands at 239 blocks.

Austin Scott was selected to the conference's Second Team after dominating for much of the 2023 season. Scott holds a 3.09 kills per set average to rank third with 167 total kills. Scott also has 16 blocks, nine service aces, and 82 digs on the year.

Connor Davis was named the CCIW Newcomer of the Year after seamlessly stepping into the Cardinals lineup. Davis has a 0.76 blocks per set average against CCIW opponents while recording 36 blocks on the season.

The CCIW also announced the nine winners of its RESPECT Award for the season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and their community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture. North Central's RESPECT Award honoree is junior, Carson Skalbeck.

North Central hosts North Park University for a semifinal match of the CCIW Tournament on Wednesday, April 12. The match is set for 7 p.m. inside Gregory Arena.
