National College Athlete Honor Society

Chi Alpha Sigma is a national honor society founded at DePauw University in 1996 to recognize student-athletes with high academic and high athletic achievement. Students selected for membership must have achieved junior standing following their 5th semester or 7th quarter. These students must have a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average and have earned a letter in a varsity sport sponsored by the NCAA.

May 2010 - 2010 was a record setting year for our student-athletes, both athletically and academically.  A total of 33 student-athletes were inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society as part of North Central's Honors Day celebrations.  This year's class represented 15 of North Central's 22 NCAA varsity athletic teams and had an average cumulative GPA of 3.66.

May 2008 - In conjunction with the 2008 North Central College Honors Day, 41 student-athletes were inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society (Chi Alpha Sigma), Illinois Mu chapter. The inaugural class of inductees represented 19 of North Central's 21 NCAA varsity athletic teams and included students who earlier in the day were recognized during the College's Honors Convocation. Adam Pennington (men's cross country and track and field) was honored as NCC's Outstanding Male Student, the College's highest honor, in addition to being inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma.
