Rich Scopp '89 won the 1,500 meters at the 1989 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He clocked a time of 3:48.44 to win the national title. Scopp's All-American efforts in the 1,500 and 800 meters helped the Cardinals to their first national championships in track and field in 1989. The College won both the indoor and outdoor national meets that year.
