Day One Recap
(Mar. 9, 2013) - North Central College sophomore shot putter
Ebony Stallworth finished ninth in the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Saturday at Al B. Carius Track.
Seeded 12
th of 15 competitors, Stallworth launched her best throw of the day (44'9”) on her first heave of the afternoon. She was the last qualifier for the final flight, but was unable to improve her position and earn a spot on the podium.
The Cardinals finished in 42nd place overall, with
Elizabeth Composto scoring all four and a half of North Central's points after she finished in a tie for fourth place on Friday in the pole vault.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh ran away with the team title after scoring 56 points. Illinois College came in second with 32 points, while the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (27 points) and Wartburg College (25 points) rounded out the top-four.
North Central opens the outdoor season at home on Mar. 28 in the First Chance Invitational at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
