NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 5, 2007) – A standout performance in Saturday's win over Illinois Wesleyan University earned junior cornerback Tyler Venier (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Venier led North Central in tackles with nine in the Cardinals' 23-7 victory over the Titans. He also had one sack for a loss of 6 yards and two tackles-for-loss of 9 yards. The junior also had an interception that stopped a late potential scoring drive by the Titans.

CCIW Players of the Week

North Central finishes out the regular season with a 1 p.m. game at Carthage College (Wis.) Saturday, Nov. 10.
