NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 9, 2007) – North Central College sophomore Micah Melendrez (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin All-Conference Second Team. It is the second All-CCIW honor for Melendrez, who was also a second team selection last season.

Melendrez led North Central in points with 12, scoring four goals and assisting on four scores this season. He started in each of the 15 games he played in. The midfielder helped the Cardinals improve their record by four games in 2007, and climb to seventh in the conference under first-year head coach Matt Klosterman.

"Micah Melendrez is a great representative of North Central College and the men's soccer team," Klosterman said. "He is accountable as a student-athlete and it's really fun to watch how hard he competes and the camaraderie he has with his teammates every day. We're very proud to have Micah on the team and look forward to seeing what he and his teammates can accomplish together as they continue to improve over the next two years."
