Oct. 27, 2008 - North Central College kicker Andrew Barciszewski (Fr., Troy, Ill./Triad) has been honored as one of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Football Players of the Week, as he was named the most recent Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Barciszewski received his first collegiate Player of the Week Award after accounting for 14 points in the Cardinals' 44-21 victory at then-No. 4 Wheaton College. He connected on three field goals, tying a North Central single-game record, and made all five of his extra-point attempts.

His first two field goals, covering 19 and 28 yards, were the first scores of the evening for North Central (7-0, 4-0 CCIW), and he added a 20-yarder just before halftime as the Cardinals carried a 23-0 lead into the locker room.

North Central has now won three of the past four CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week Awards, as punter Adam Pucylowski (Sr., New Berlin, Wis./Catholic Memorial) received the same accolades following the Cardinals' games against Millikin University and Carthage College.

North Central, now ranked No. 2 in Division III by D3football.com, hosts Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. Kickoff at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.
