Oct. 3, 2008 – The North Central College women's volleyball team defeated Wheaton College, 3-1, Friday afternoon, rallying from a first set defeat to win the final three.

The Thunder snatched the first set, 25-20, before the Cardinals would rebound with a dominating 25-11 win in the second set. North Central pulled out the 26-24 win in the third and wrapped up the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth set for the team's second conference win.

Crystal Wright (Fr., Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) led the offense with 16 kills while Jessica Eggerrt (Sr., Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) and Christy Hermann (Jr., Washington, Ill./Illinois Central CC) had 11 and 10 kills each. Stephanie Ryding (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Central) posted 48 assists in the match while on defense tallying 23 digs. Wright finished with a team-high 29 digs while Eggert had 21. Amy Bruns (Jr., Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) had three service aces and two assisted blocks on the night.

North Central (13-7, 2-2) travels to Elmhurst College on Tuesday night for a match against the Bluejays.
