Nov. 3, 2008 - North Central College punter Adam Pucylowski (Sr., New Berlin, Wis./Catholic Memorial) has been honored as one of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Football Players of the Week for the third time in the 2008 season, as he was named the most recent Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.
Pucylowski, the CCIW's only three-time Special Teams honoree, received his latest accolades following his performance in the Cardinals' 30-7 victory over Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday. He punted six times, averaging 43.7 yards per kick, and pinned the Titans inside their own 20-yard line four times.
He is the CCIW's leading punter this season, with an average of 41.3 yards per attempt. His efforts have helped North Central rank among the top teams in Division III in net punting all season long.
The Cardinals have now won four of the past five CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week Awards. Kicker Andrew Barciszewski (Fr., Troy, Ill./Triad) received the honor for the first time last week. Pucylowski is one of three three-time CCIW Player of the Week Award winners this season, joining teammate Matt Wenger (Jr., Davis, Ill./Dakota), a three-time honoree on defense, and Elmhurst College wide receiver Matt D'Angelo.
North Central, now ranked No. 2 in Division III by D3football.com, hosts Augustana College (Ill.) on Saturday at 2 p.m. North Central will conduct its annual Senior Day festivities prior to kickoff. A live audio broadcast by the North Central College radio station, 89.1-FM WONC, will be available, as well as live in-game statistics on the North Central athletic website at www.northcentralcollege.edu/athletics/stats/football/2008/xlive.htm.
