Oct. 12, 2009 - North Central College volleyball player
Christy Hermann has been named one of the
College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Players of the Week for Oct. 12-18.
Hermann, a senior middle hitter, hit .422 with 44 kills and 16 total blocks as the Cardinals were a perfect 5-0 for the week, including a 3-1 victory over 11th-ranked Calvin College (Mich.) in their final match at the Elmhurst College Invitational on Saturday. Hermann hit .526 with 11 kills and six total blocks in the win.
Hermann leads the Cardinals with 60 total blocks this season and ranks third on the team in kills (145). She is tied with teammate
Stacie Mokros for the team lead in attack percentage (.296).
Hermann is the fourth North Central player to earn a Player of the Week Award from the CCIW this season. Other honorees include
Ryan Lally last week,
Crystal Wright on Sept. 29, and
Stephanie Ryding on Sept. 9.
