Aaron Fanthorpe and
Shaun Wild have been named the
College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for the weekend of Oct. 24.
Fanthorpe received his third Player of the Week Award this season for his role in the Cardinals'
27-7 victory over Wheaton College on Saturday. He completed 16 of 28 passes for 218 yards and four touchdowns, giving him four straight games with at least three touchdown passes. He also led North Central in rushing with 88 yards on 12 carries. He currently leads the CCIW in passing touchdowns (21) and passer efficiency rating (183.8).
Wild received Player of the Week honors for the first time after punting six times for a 36.7-yard average, landing two kicks inside the 20-yard line. He also kicked off five times, averaging 58.6 yards per kick and allowing Wheaton just 16.8 yards per kickoff return. Wild is averaging 37.4 yards per punt and North Central leads the CCIW in net punting average (35.4 yards per punt) and kickoff coverage (41.6 yards per kickoff).
The Cardinals have now won two consecutive CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week Awards.
Nick Kukuc received the honors following North Central's win over Carthage College on Oct. 17.
