Oct. 31, 2009 -- One goal was all that was needed for visiting North Park University to come away from Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium with the win, defeating North Central College 1-0 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's soccer match.

North Park posted the game's lone score in the 18th minute after a Pablo Del Torro through pass set up Tyler Heaps, who rifled off a shot that clipped a Cardinal defender and landed in the net. The Vikings would take the one goal lead into the half, holding a slim 6-4 edge in shots.

The Cardinals looked poised to equalize the score in the 65th minute, drawing a penalty kick after a hand ball in the box, before North Park's keeper Joe Cindric denied the shot.

Phillip Klipp recorded 12 saves on the day for the Cardinals in goal while his counterpart Cindric stopped seven shots to record the shutout.

With the loss, North Central concludes the season 8-10 overall and 2-4 in CCIW play while North Park improves to 10-5-3 overall and 3-2-2 in conference action.
