Nov. 16, 2009 - North Central College football players Stewart Charles and Joe Antonacci have been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Players of the Week for the weekend of Nov. 14.

Charles was named the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cardinals' 49-24 victory over Elmhurst College. He finished with career highs of 11 tackles, 10 solo tackles, two tackles for loss and three pass breakups. Antonacci, meanwhile, received Special Teams Player of the Week accolades after tallying 180 return yards in the contest, including an 81-yard kickoff return in the first quarter.

North Central quarterback Aaron Fanthorpe has received three Offensive Player of the Week Awards this season, while linebacker Joe Schneiderbauer was last week's Defensive Player of the Week and punter Shaun Wild and running back Nick Kukuc have each received Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

The Cardinals finished the season 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the CCIW, earning a share of the CCIW Championship for the fourth straight season.
