KENOSHA, Wis. (Nov. 7, 2009) – The North Central College volleyball team saw its bid for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament championship thwarted on Saturday, as the second-seeded Cardinals lost a 3-0 decision to top-seeded Carthage College at Tarble Arena.

The eighth-ranked Lady Reds (31-5) won their fourth consecutive CCIW Tournament title, defeating North Central by scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-12. 

The Cardinals (34-4) got eight kills from Crystal Wright, 23 assists from Ryan Lally and 19 digs from Stephanie Ryding. Ryding and Christy Hermann were among the seven individuals named to the CCIW All-Tournament Team.

Selections and pairings for the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship will be announced Monday morning at ncaa.com.
