Fanthorpe Honored by CCIW

North Central College football player Aaron Fanthorpe has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Offensive Co-Player of the Week for the weekend of Sept. 12.

The senior quarterback accounted for 293 yards and four touchdowns in the Cardinals' 55-0 shutout of Benedictine University on Saturday. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns in the win. He also rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.

Fanthorpe was a two-time CCIW Offensive Player of the Week last season, when he received First Team All-CCIW honors and the CCIW Offensive Player of the Year Award for the second straight year.

Fanthorpe shared this week's honor with Augustana College quarterback David Lee. Wheaton College linebacker J.D. East was the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Week, while teammate Jon Sesso received Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

The Cardinals return to competition Saturday, Sept. 26, when they host Olivet College (Mich.)
