Sept. 22, 2009 -- Lauren Hooks has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Runner of the Week after pacing the North Central College women's cross country squad to a seventh place finish at last weekend's Illinois Intercollegiate Championships.

The freshman finished 20th overall and third amongst College Division competitors, traversing the 5,000 meter course at the Weiburg Golf Club in 18:39. Her performance helped the Cardinals finish seventh overall and second in the College Division with a team tally of 205.

North Central returns to competition on Saturday, September 26, traveling to Lake Forest, Ill. for the Forester Invitational.
