WHEATON, Ill. (Sept. 26, 2009) -
The North Central College volleyball team is now 17-1 after a four-match sweep of its schedule at the Wheaton College Tournament on Saturday.

The Cardinals opened play on Friday evening with a 3-2 victory over the University of Chicago. Trailing, two sets to one, North Central rallied to win the fourth set, 25-21, then dominated the fifth and final set, 15-7. The Cardinals closed out the evening with a 3-1 win over Rockford College. 

On Saturday, North Central posted a 3-1 win over Lakeland College (Wis.) before closing out the weekend with a 3-0 whitewash of Benedictine University.

Crystal Wright finished with 47 kills in the four matches, while Stacie Mokros posted 28. Ryan Lally finished with 81 assists and Alyssa Lantz totaled 60, while Jamie Drozd tallied eight service aces. Defensively, the Cardinals were led by Stephanie Ryding's 98 digs and Christy Hermann's nine total blocks.

Ryding was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance in the two-day event.

North Central returns home to host Elmhurst College on Tuesday. Play is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
