Sept. 29, 2009 - North Central College volleyball player Crystal Wright has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 21-27. The CCIW announced its weekly honorees Tuesday.

Wright, an outside hitter, hit .244 with 59 kills (3.11 per set) as the Cardinals went 5-0 for the week, beating Millikin, 3-0, before a 4-0 sweep of four matches at the Wheaton Tournament. She also totaled 37 digs and two service aces. Wright hit .355 with 12 kills against Millikin and turned in a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs against Chicago in North Central's first match at Wheaton.

Wright, an Honorable Mention All-CCIW selection a year ago, is the Cardinals' leader in kills (194) this season. She is the second North Central player to earn CCIW Player of the Week honors in 2009. Stephanie Ryding received the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Week Award on Sept. 9.

The Cardinals (17-1, 1-1 CCIW) host Elmhurst College on Tuesday evening in conference play. Live in-match statistics can be accessed here.
