OAK PARK, Ill. (Sep. 8, 2009)-- The North Central College women's tennis squad put together a flawless performance, Tuesday afternoon, defeating Dominican University, 9-0, in a non-conference match at Taylor Park. Alicia DeGrado did not yield a game all afternoon, winning 8-0 in doubles before picking up the 6-0, 6-0 win in singles play to highlight the Cardinals' efforts.

The Cardinals established their dominance early, outscoring the Stars by a combined 24-1 in doubles. Cory Schillerstrom and DeGrado netted the 8-0 win over Andrea Body and Kaitlyn Seldal in No. 1 doubles while in No. 3 action, Abigail Conover and Jessica Ignarski blanked Nadia Pencheva and Viatra Baker, 8-0. At No. 2, Elizabeth Micheletti and Allison Paschold had little difficulty, dispensing Courtney Bates and Jennifer Alcantara, 8-1.

In singles, Ignarski won her fourth straight match, winning, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles while Paschold posted the 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4. In No. 1 singles, Schillerstrom took down Dominican's ace Seldal, 6-1, 6-0 while in No. 2 action DeGrado blew by Budzak, 6-0, 6-0. Micheletti won, 6-3, 6-0 in No. 3 singles with Conover winning 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 5 position.

With the win, North Central improves to 3-1 on the year while Dominican falls to 2-1.The Cardinals return to the court on Thursday, facing Division II Quincy University in a dual match at 4 p.m.
