BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Oct. 9, 2010)-- Conceding a goal in each half, the North Central College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback to Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match at Neis Field.
IWU (4-5-2, 1-0-1 CCIW) struck first in the 16th minute as Tim Griffin buried a penalty kick to give the home side the early edge. The 1-0 scoreline would hold up at the half with the Titans outshooting the Cardinals (4-5-3, 0-1-1 CCIW) by a slim 4-3 margin.
The Titans would double their advantage in the 47th minute of play with Angelo Catalano scoring on a rebound off a Kyle Gorgol shot.
Pete Zimmermann sliced the Titan lead to just one in the 56th minute, scoring off a #T.J. Simmons# assist but the Cardinals were unable to come any closer despite the 4-3 edge in second half shots.

Phillip Klipp absorbed the loss, recording two saves while IWU's Frank Gorg gets the win, making three saves on the day.
North Central returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13, facing Elmhurst College with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
