LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Sept. 18, 2010) - The North Central College volleyball team suffered two straight losses at the Lake Forest College Triangular on Saturday, absorbing a 3-1 loss to the host Foresters before a 3-2 setback against Benedictine University.
After a 25-19 loss in the first set against Lake Forest, the Cardinals (6-6) routed the hosts, 25-8, in the second set. The Foresters (6-7), however, secured victory after claiming the third and fourth sets, 25-17 and 25-15.
North Central's
Jenae Harner turned in team highs of 13 kills and 19 digs, while
Ryan Lally put up 39 assists.
The Cardinals fell behind against Benedictine after losing the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-19, but evened the match with 25-17 and 25-19 wins in the next two frames. The Eagles (7-4) scratched out a 16-14 victory in the fifth and deciding set.
Harner once again led North Central in kills with 12, and Lally contributed 30 assists.
Sarah Eggert established a new high for her young career with 35 digs, and
Alli Briner turned in seven total blocks.
The Cardinals travel to Elmhurst College for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin match at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
