MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 7, 2010)-- Playing its first road game of the season, the North Central College men's soccer team rallied from an early deficit, emerging from Warrior Field with a 2-1 victory over host Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday night.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-4) struck first as James Sather scored an unassisted goal just six minutes into the contest. The home side's would maintain its advantage until the 56th minute when
Kevin Okamoto fed
Paul Box for the equalizing score.
Ryan Johnson would net the eventual game-winner 20 minutes later off a
Michael Lenzi assist as the Cardinals (2-1) held on for the win.
Goalkeeper
Phillip Klipp recorded two saves between the posts for the Cardinals in 90 minutes of work while WLC's Chris Lorig logged seven saves in the losing effort.
North Central returns back home to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Friday, Sept. 10, where they will take on regionally-ranked Hope College (Mich.) at 7 p.m.
