WAUKESHA, Wis. (Sept. 8, 2010) - Erasing a two sets-to-one deficit on the road proved to be no problem for the North Central College volleyball team on Wednesday, as the Cardinals claimed the final two sets and escaped Van Male Field House with a 3-2 victory over Carroll University.

After claiming a 25-17 victory in the evening's first set, the Cardinals (4-1) dropped the second frame, 25-20, before suffering a 25-11 setback in the third set. The comeback began with a 25-15 win that leveled the match at two sets each, and the rally was made complete with a 15-11 fifth-set victory.

Jenae Harner, Crystal Wright and Kelly Ator led North Central's attack with 10 kills apiece. Alli Briner turned in eight total blocks, including five solo efforts, and Amber Ladwig finished with five blocks, three of which were solos.

Jamie Drozd paced the Cardinals with 17 digs, Harner added 16, and Anna Wirtz finished with 14.

North Central travels to the Aurora University Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Cardinals' first match is at 4 p.m. Friday against Calumet College of Saint Joseph (Ind.)
