Jan. 15, 2011-- Leading wire-to-wire, the North Central College men's basketball team tallied its third straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin victory on Saturday inside Gregory Arena, downing Millikin University, 67-55. CJ Goldthree paced the Cardinals, sinking five three-pointers and ending the afternoon with 21 points.

Back-to-back three-pointers by Goldthree gave the Cardinals (7-8, 3-1 CCIW) an early 13-5 edge before the Big Blue (1-13, 0-4 CCIW) whittled the deficit to just two, 15-13, with 11:17 remaining in the opening half. North Central responded by outscoring Millikin 20-5 the remainder of the half, closing out the frame on a 10-0 run to take a comfortable 35-18 lead at the break.

North Central limited the Big Blue to shooting just 28 percent (seven-for-25) from the floor in the opening half while sinking 46.4 percent (13-for-28) of its shots.

The Cardinals led by double digits the entire second half, leading by as many as 26 points before settling on the final 12-point margin as Millikin scored the game's final 12 points.

Goldthree led all scorers with 21 points, 19 of which came in the opening 20 minutes of play, finishing five-for-seven from beyond the arc. Brian Evans chipped in eight points while grabbing a team-high nine rebounds and dishing out five assists. Derek Raridon and Jack Burchett each added eight points.

Kyle Taylor paced the Big Blue, scoring 18 points while Kelvin Jacobs added eight with a game-high 10 boards.

The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, facing Carthage College at 7:30 p.m. in Kenosha, Wis.
