CCIW Release
Oct. 4, 2011-- For the second time this season, North Central College's
Jake Muszczynski has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Muszczynski played a pivotal role in the Cardinals' (9-2, 1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) three shutout victories during the week, netting four goals, including two game-winners.
Against Millikin University, the sophomore tallied the game's first goal just 25 seconds into the contest, eventually securing a first half hat trick after finding the back of the net again in the 35th and 38th minutes. His performance helped the Cardinals pile on six goals against the Big Blue, the team's biggest offensive output in CCIW play since 1995. Muszczynski followed up that effort by scoring the game's opening goal on Sunday against Lakeland College (Wis.), helping the Cardinals post a 4-0 victory.
Muszczynski previously won CCIW Offensive Player of the Week accolades on Sept. 13
North Central, ranked ninth in the Central Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, returns to action on Saturday, hosting Illinois Wesleyan University at 2:30 p.m. inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
