Volleyball Lands Three on All-CCIW Teams

All-CCIW Volleyball Teams

North Central College's Ryan Lally, Crystal Wright and Jenae Harner have been honored with selections to the 2011 All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Volleyball Teams. The CCIW announced this year's honorees on Monday.

Lally and Wright were named to the All-CCIW Second Team, while Harner was an Honorable Mention selection. Lally was picked to the Second Team for the third straight year, while Wright is a four-year honoree and two-year Second Team member. Harner's selection is the first of her collegiate career.

Lally played in 33 of North Central's 35 matches, leading the team with 1,034 assists. She broke the Cardinals' career assist record on Oct. 29 in a win over EdgewoodCollege and ranked fourth in the CCIW in assists per set in conference play (9.42). She also ranked third on the team in service aces (28) and fifth in digs (199). Lally was the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2009.

Wright took part in 34 of the Cardinals' contests. She led the team in kills (331) and attack percentage (.261) while ranking sixth on the team in digs (170). She ranked eighth in the CCIW in kills per set (2.89) and eighth in attack percentage. Wright was also a Second Team All-CCIW selection in 2009, and was an Honorable Mention pick in 2008 and 2010.

Harner played in all 35 of the Cardinals' matches, leading the team in service aces (38) while ranking second in kills (328) and digs (327). She ranked third in the CCIW in service aces per set in conference play (0.48).

Michelle Madeja of CCIW Champion Carthage College was named the conference's Player of the Year, while Millikin University's Audry Krajec claimed CCIW Freshman of the Year honors. Carthage's Leanne Ulmer was voted the CCIW Coach of the Year.

The Cardinals finished with a record of 18-17 in 2011, going 3-4 against CCIW opposition.
