Sept. 17, 2011-- The North Central College women's tennis squad returned to the win column on Saturday, breezing past non-conference foe Purdue University Calumet, 9-0, at the NCC Tennis Courts.

Cory Schillerstrom and Katie Hatch downed the Peregrines' (0-1) No. 1 doubles squad of Jamie Pittman and Dawn Jaranowski by an 8-1 count while the Cardinals' (3-2) No. 2 tandem of Reynolds Cross and Maggie Youel rolled by an identical score. Madeline Urban and Stephanie Brunetti completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory at No. 3.

In singles, Schillerstrom prevailed at No. 1 over Sarah Storm by a, 6-3, 6-0, count while Youel (6-0, 6-1) and Hatch (6-1, 6-3) both won at No. 2 and No. 3, resepectively.

Urban blanked Kristina Davison, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 while Brunetti rolled by the same score at No. 5, victimizing Alyssa Hojnicki. Cross provided the victory at No. 6, downing Lauren Innes, 6-1, 6-1.

The Cardinals return to the courts tommorrow, hosting Calumet College of Saint Joseph (Ind.) at 1 p.m.
