Nov. 5, 2012 - North Central College men's soccer student-athletes Jake Muszczynski, Michael Lenzi, and Mike Tworek have been honored by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin on Monday with selections to the 2012 all-conference team.

All three student-athletes have been named to the Second Team after the Cardinals posted a 3-4 record in the CCIW.  This is the second consecutive the Cardinals have placed three players on the all-conference squad after Muszczynski, Michael Curtis, and current North Central assistant coach Paul Box made the team after the 2011 season.

Despite playing in only five games in conference play, Muszczynski earned All-CCIW recognition for the second consecutive season.   He led the Cardinals in every major offensive statistical category including goals (11), assists (4), points (26), and shots (48). Two of Musczcynski's goals and an assist came in conference play.

Lenzi earned his first All-CCIW honor after scoring a goal on Oct. 10 against Wheaton College, and added an assist against Millikin University on Oct. 17.  In addition to his offensive skills, Lenzi was instrumental in bolstering the Cardinals' backline that tallied six clean sheets.

Tworek earns his first spot on the All-CCIW team.  The senior anchored a stout defense that pitched six shutouts during the season, two of them coming in victories over CCIW rivals Elmhurst College and Augustana College.  Tworek's defensive skills helped the Cardinals string together back-to-back shutouts against Adrian College and Rockford College early in the season.

North Central finished its 2012 campaign with an 11-7 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the CCIW.  It is the progam's second consecutive winning season and the most wins since 1999.
