Three Cardinals Named to All-CCIW Volleyball Teams

2012 All-CCIW Volleyball Teams

North Central College volleyball players Laura Kluk, Jenae Harner and Kedryn Orrison have been selected to the 2012 All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Teams, as selected by the conference's head coaches.

Kluk was named to the All-CCIW Second Team and was voted the conference's Freshman of the Year, while Harner and Orrison both received Honorable Mention recognition.

Kluk, one of five setters to receive All-CCIW accolades this season, was one of two North Central players to play every set of all 35 of the Cardinals' matches this season. She led North Central with 56 service aces (the fourth-highest single-season total in school history) and 1,216 assists (the sixth-highest total at North Central) while also turning in 113 kills, 249 digs and 46 blocks. She led the CCIW in assists per set (10.13 and ranked third in the conference with 0.47 service aces per set.


Kluk is the second North Central player to earn CCIW Freshman of the Year honors, joining Ryan Lally in 2009.

Harner received Honorable Mention All-CCIW honors for the second straight season after leading the Cardinals with 347 kills and ranking second on the team with 297 digs this season. She ranked fifth in the CCIW in kills per set (3.02) and finished her four-year career ranked fifth all-time at North Central with 1,163 kills.

Orrison, a first-time All-CCIW honoree, put up a team-high 84 blocks  along with 261 kills and 44 service aces this season. She ranked second in the CCIW in attack percentage (.360) and fifth in service aces per set (0.40).

The Cardinals finished with an overall record of 23-11 this season, tying for second place in the CCIW with a 5-2 finish in conference play.
