T.J. Simmons broke a scoreless tie early in the second half and
Matt Koth added some insurance late as the North Central College men's soccer moved to 2-0, shutting out the Adrian College Bulldogs 2-0 at Adrian.
North Central was held scoreless in the first half for the second consecutive game, but Simmons again got the Cardinals going, scoring in the 48
th minute on an unassisted goal.
The Cardinal defense put forth a stellar effort in their second game in two days, holding Adrian to just two shots on goal and three shots total.
Koth provided an insurance goal in the 82
nd minute, when he scored an unassisted goal from the right side to give the Cardinals a commanding 2-0 lead.
Kyle DeRaedt earned the shutout in goal for North Central and was forced to make just two saves.
The undefeated Cardinals return to action on Sept. 4, when they hit the road to take on Rockford College at 3:30 p.m.
