Sept. 11, 2012 - North Central College's Tim Hird has been selected the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Cross Country Co-Runner of the Week for Sept. 3-9.

Hird led a partial North Central squad to a second-place finish in the 14-team Aurora University Invitational on Friday at Oakhurst Forest Preserve. He finished sixth out of 188 competitors, completing the 8,000-meter (five-mile) course in 25 minutes, 58.3 seconds.

Currently ranked No. 1 in the most recent national Division III Top 35 Poll released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the Cardinals will head to D.A. Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Ill., on Friday for the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational. North Central will be seeking its third team title in the past four years at the event.
