QUINCY, Ill. (Sept. 6, 2012)—The North Central College women's tennis team fell 7-2 at the hands of Quincy University in a non-conference dual match Thursday afternoon at the QU Courts.

Rebecca Ross and Kassandra Bernardo were victorious in No. 3 doubles over the Hawks (1-0) Samantha Jackson and Ashley Longshore, 9-7.

In singles play, the lone Cardinal (1-3, 0-2 CCIW) victory came from the No. 6 spot as Ross defeated Jackson in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.  In the No. 3 position, Madeline Urban jumped out to an early lead taking the first set, 6-2, but Quincy's Samantha Halfpap rebounded to take the next two sets, 4-6, 0-6.

The Cardinals will stay in Quincy over the weekend for the Quincy University Invitational, Sept. 7-8 starting at 2 p.m. on Friday.
