DUBUQUE, Iowa (Oct. 22, 2013) – The North Central College men's soccer team was undone in a non-conference matchup at the University of Dubuque, 2-1 Tuesday evening at Oyen Field.
 
After taking a scoreless tie into halftime, the Spartans (5-9-1) struck first in the 74^th minute as Gonzalo Hernandez broke away from the Cardinal defense to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Just over a minute later, Ricardo Serrano evened the score 1-1, dribbling through the Spartan defense for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.
 
In the 83^rd minute, Dubuque found the game-winner off the foot of Brandon Wiley, pounding home a rebound in front of the Cardinal net.
 
North Central (6-6-3) held a 19-11 margin in shots on the evening, but the Spartans held a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal.
 
North Central returns to the pitch Saturday, Oct. 26, travelling to 19^th-ranked North Park University at 7 pm.
