Oct. 30, 2013 –
On a wet, chilly night under the lights at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, the North Central College men's soccer team was undone at the hands of College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) foe Elmhurst College.

The Bluejays (10-3-3, 3-1-2 CCIW) saw the games first good scoring chance as an Elmhurst player was taken down inside the Cardinal box. Michael Delong lined up the penalty kick but was denied by Kyle DeRaedt, making a diving stop to his right to keep the game scoreless.

The Cardinals (6-7-3, 1-4-0 CCIW) outshot Elmhurst 10-6 in the opening half, but took a 0-0 tie into halftime.

On the contest, North Central outshot the Bluejays by a 21-8 margin, but Elmhurst was able to find the game winner in the 76th minute as Josh Rudd broke through the Cardinal defense, despite Elmhurst playing a man down the entire second half due to an ejection late in the first period.

Kyle DeRaedt made two saves on the evening, while Elmhurst goalkeeper John Reglin stopped nine North Central shots.

North Central closes out the season Saturday, Nov. 2, hosting Illinois Wesleyan University on Senior Night at 3:30 pm.
