Nov. 26, 2013 – It was a tale of two halves Tuesday night inside Gregory Arena as the North Central College women's basketball team avenged a 12-point halftime deficit, en route to a 102-98 victory over non-conference rival Benedictine University.

Benedictine (1-3) took a 56-44 lead into halftime, shooting a blistering 63% from the field to North Central's 29%, while the Cardinals were just 7 of 38 from three.

The Cardinals (3-1) chipped away at the Eagle lead over the opening eight minutes of the second half, eventually taking a 68-67 lead on a
Maryssa Cladis three-pointer with 12:26 remaining in regulation.

The two teams traded leads over the next ten minutes and with the score knotted 91-91, North Central went on the game's pivotal run. The Cardinals outscored the Eagles 7-1 in less than a minute span, highlighted by long balls from
Anita Sterling and
Marion Boeck, giving the hosts a 98-92 lead with 1:33 remaining.

North Central was able to knock down its free-throws down the stretch, eclipsing the 100-point mark for the third time already this season.

In the second half the Cardinals shot a much-improved 46% from the field, including 11 of 25 from beyond the arch.

Four Cardinals finished the evening in double-figures, led by
Kimberly Wilson's 17 points.Â
Lauren Hernandez added 15, while Cladis and
DeJa Moore each chipped in 10.Â

Alanna Ferry (15 points, 10 assists) and Nicole Botich (13 points, 10 rebounds) paced the Eagles with double-doubles, while Vincenza Ranallo led the way with 20 points. Meghan Novak added 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the field.

North Central is back in action Saturday, Nov. 30, hosting Luther College. Tip-off is slated for 3 pm.
