KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Aug. 30, 2013) – In its season opening match, the North Central College volleyball team was beaten 3-1 at the hands of the Anderson University Ravens at the Kalamazoo Green Hornet Invitational.

The Ravens (1-0) took the first two sets 25-21 and 25-17, before the Cardinals rallied took take the third set 25-23. However, Anderson won the fourth set 25-21 to clinch the victory.
Sophomore
Laura Kluk led the way for the Cardinals (0-1). She was the lone player to tally double digit kills with 11, and led the team 21 assists.
Jessie Fiala,
Sarah Eggert, and Kluk all registered double figure digs with Fiala leading the way at 14.
Courtney Carver led Anderson with 11 kills, while Riley Troyer and Jordan Stanley dished out 15 assists apiece.
The Cardinals play two more matches at Kalamazoo tomorrow. North Central takes on Manchester University at 12:00 p.m. (ET) and plays host Kalamazoo College at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
