Sept. 10, 2013 – North Central College student-athlete Charlie Stanke has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 2-8.

Stanke led the Cardinals to a 2-0-0 record during the week, recording a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win over Albion College (Mich.) in the opening game of the Sal Vaccaro Tournament.  The following night, Stanke connected on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Adrian College, claiming the Cardinals third-straight Sal Vaccaro Tournament championship.

Stanke is currently tied for the team lead with two goals while leading the team with six total points so far this season. 

North Central returns to the pitch Thursday, Sept. 12, making the short trip down the road to Benedictine University at 7 pm.
