Sept. 24, 2013 - North Central College's Aron Sebhat has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 16-22.

Sebhat became the second Cardinal to receive the honor this season after leading a shorthanded North Central squad to a second-place finish in the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday. Despite giving several members of the team the weekend off from competition, the Cardinals tallied 33 points in the 14-team event and were just two points behind third-ranked Washington University in St. Louis. Sebhat was North Central's top runner in the meet, finishing the 8,000-meter (five-mile) course in 24 minutes, 57 seconds to place fourth overall.

Sebhat's selection gives North Central the CCIW's weekly award for the second time in three weeks, as John Crain earned the distinction on Sept. 10.

The top-ranked Cardinals will send a squad to the College of DuPage Invitational at St. James Farm in Warrenville on Friday. The race is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
